I am Emily Berry and I am currently a senior at Hilliard Bradley. Overall my experience wasn't what I would have expected when I was younger. It wasn't enjoyable nor was it unenjoyable. I played tennis my freshman through junior year of high school. During my junior year I earned my varsity letter. Also in my junior year I was inducted into the National Honors Society. I have been participating in orchestra since fifth grade playing the viola. Outside of school, I volunteered for three or four weeks a summer at a outdoor education camp through Columbus recreation and parks called Indian Village. I first attended this camp as a camper since I was 7 and was recently hired as a counselor for summer job. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I particularly enjoy traveling with them, most recently we went to Mexico. I plan to attend Ohio University in the fall and study screenwriting and production.
My Project
This is the first I have taken journalism and writing for the reporter. I was never very interested and needed another class in my schedule for my senior year. My closest friend was taking journalism for the first time also and I decided to join him. I did not know that there was an application process during the previous school year. The type of classes I could take was already limited because of the periods when they're offered and journalism was one of the only ones I was interested in. So my guidance counselor, Mrs. Buscemi, thought she could talk to Mrs. Fitzwater and see if she would let me join her class with out applying. In the end she did and I am very thankful for this because it has been one of the best classes I have taken at Bradley. So my capstone project Is about my experience in this amazing class and the work I have achieved.
