My Mentor: Mrs. Fitzwater
Influence
- Why chosen: I chose Mrs. Fitzwater to be my mentor because I have become very close to her throughout the year. She is a great teacher and someone that is easy to talk to. I thought she would be a reliable person to chose for this project since she has taught me so much.
- She is an English teacher along with the adviser The Reporter. She acts like a friend and a teacher. She has a big personality loves joking around with us during class.
- I was a ball of clay when I entered this class. She took me in to her warm and loving hands and molded me in to the person I am today. She inspired me to pursue my future career as a screenwriter and producer.
- She has taught me many life lessons throughout the year. I do believe that she has affected my future greatly and enhanced my writing schools beyond what I thought they could.

I inherited it from another teacher that was leaving and I said I would do. It has been 7 years since then.
What's the biggest struggle you have encountered in your job?
I think the hardest part about the job is coming across students that for whatever reason that I can't help. Because sometimes their repore isn't good enough, I take that very seriously because I just feel that I cant connect with them and that's hard for me.
What do you enjoy about teaching english and journalism to high schoolers?
I like the fact that it's never boring. It's different every day and that I have a bit of freedom to how I teach. I like to laugh and it's nice to to get to know students every year. It's nice getting fresh start every year.
If you weren't an english teacher, what would you do?
I would want to run a animal sanctuary out west somewhere. And take in all kinds of animals no one wants and take care of them. If I could make money doing that that's what I would do.
A dentist. Just cause. I find it's fascinating. I always thought the hours would not be great and that would be difficult.
